Migrant Bodies, “divagare e dimorare”, the event was organized by chada halwani with the contribution of the artist Erratica association and the mediation of Marco Izzolino of L’Arsenale di Napoli. A tow days event in which the Hangar Museo, a contemporary “sustainable” museum space between the Sele plain and the Cilentani mountains, became a house and laboratory for artists and researchers. The area’s artistic community comes into contact with international artists on the theme of migration, travel and community spirit. The meeting was born under the banner of two keywords: museum and community. First, An opportunity to encourage people to create a sense of community, which arises not from a place, but from the coming together of people united by their connection to the area. Second Underlying the work we are trying to do at the Hangar Museuo is a new conception of territorial museum: the museum is no longer conceived as an architectural space in which to store objects and artefacts, but as a network of places, connected to real life, in which the intangible cultural heritage of the territory is expressed, narrated and shared.

The project consists of fragments of personal voice notes, writings, readings and archival sounds and voices that I recorded while staying in Beirut, Lebanon between 2020 and 2023. Unsettled feelings contextualize migration and Nostalgia, as a political event with its own temporality, one that leaves the daily interactions and vocality of the present, and enters a space of absence where suspensions in action and language exist in incomprehensible conversations, and ears lost in translation.
